There is no mention of Joe's family as they don't want to be part of this organization. Joe lived with us for the last year of his life. I only met his family the last few weeks of his life. I am happy to read the good times you had with him. We did not know him then but knowing him I was able to visualize the things you mentioned. We would love to have you help. Please register so we can contact you with opportunities to help.

Me and Joe were highschool sweethearts, we did everything together. We spent alot of time together, and it saddens me to know that there is no mention of any of his family. I was not around the last 6 months of his life, but I visted him in the hospital and his mother, and grandma were all there. It breaks my heart knowing that all yall have posted on here and on the new's sites was about the negative (about him not having a place to stay,etc..) and I just wanted you to know Joe was very special, he was a proud individual, he wanted to be independent. I know his family had moved to nacado.. but i never would of thought that his dad would ever leave his son in a time of need.
Joe had several CRAZY dreams like being a UFC fighter and how he loved turtles ( I bought him his first one, ROCKY!) he loved that turtle, I remeber one day we were driving along 529 when Joe saw a turtle in the street, he slammed on the breaks and ran out of the truck to go save this turtles life. I also remember Prom, That was one heck of an experience. Joe hated dressing up, he was a t-shirt and jeans kinda guy, but for prom all he wanted was to make me happy and so he got the most amazing white tux he could find, He looked great, we had a great time, I rember being on the farriswheel that night and joe whinney like a little baby about it being to high! LoL.. It's these little things and memories that I will never be able to let go. Unfortantly, I was never informed or saw any information about his death untill after ( I was in fort worth) but I just want him to know that I think about him all the time, He was such a huge impact on me and my familys life. He spent many holidays with us and is greatly missed by everyone in my family.
I will be contacting my school director to see if I can collect bears for this organization, and would love to volunteer.
